In June 2023, in Waldbrunn, we discovered a solution to address the devastating impacts of heat and drought in German forestry. Faced with up to 80% failure rates in new plantings due to climate change, we are embracing innovative planting strategies.
By employing the ecological soil conditioner AgroBiogel as a water reservoir, we shield our plant material from drying out. This not only ensures the reconstruction and transformation of the forest but also safeguards investments and labor by maintaining high vitality rates one to two years into the plant stand.
Given the evolving weather conditions, we suggest, alongside selecting climate-adapted tree species, the use of biological hydrogels. Our objective is a successful forest transformation into healthy mixed forests with resilient trees, safeguarding young plants from withering."
